About

For as long as I can remember, I’ve taken pictures. A camera makes me complete.

My first pictures were fine art photography in black and white. I processed and printed those first images in a dark room, where chemistry and light were magic. Today's photographic methods allow me to apply that same magic to a wider variety of subjects.

People amaze me. So I usually aim my camera at people expressing themselves, at work, at play, in moments of emotion and meaning. I look for pictures that show character, depth and feeling. My photographs record people of all shapes, sizes, lifestyles and tastes.

At M. A. C. Photography, I have a flexible approach to photographing the milestones of life. As my Web site illustrates, I've had considerable experience in the Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton areas of Pennsylvania as a photographer of weddings, civil union ceremonies, and portraits.

At weddings, my goal is to photograph the moments important to the couple, to take pictures they will treasure, and to do my job in a way that will not intrude on the ceremony. I prefer recording each wedding as a photojournalist would cover a news event. As the ceremony proceeds, I want the bride and groom to hardly notice I'm there.

Note: I usually don't arrange posed photographs at weddings. However, I am willing to allow time for them, because I realize family members might want pictures of everyone together in formal dress. At the request of the couple, I will set up and take the posed pictures, as long as the photography doesn't interfere with the wedding events.

With regular portraits, my goal is to capture real, but perhaps not commonly noticed, gestures and expressions. I try to make each person feel so comfortable in front of the camera that the natural self emerges in the photos. I love the process. Once a person in the portrait feels at ease, the photography itself is a joy.
